Figure 136.  Second weight for gin house scales

Pictured here is another weight that was used to weigh the massive bales of cotton.  Waiters told how they loaded these heavy bales into railroad boxcars.  They put one bale on the floor of the boxcar.  Then four men each lifted one corner of a second bale, and two other men pushed it into place on top of the lower bale.  (Photo 1998)
