The andirons in the fireplace in Ms. Catherine’s house were donated by Walter Wallace Sallenger. It is possible that they were originally used on the Gregg/Wallace farm. Sallenger found them on a Black Creek lot where a cabin, owned by J. W. Wallace, Jr., had burned. Apparently the andirons had been placed in the cabin by Wallace. (Photo 2007)
