Seen
here, with Walter Wallace’s ledger book and eleven books
from the Mars Bluff gin house, is a very small spiral
notebook whose cover says “Buy Bulldog”.
Only one page is of any importance.
On that page Walter Gregg Wallace wrote where each
of the hewn-timber cabins had been placed when they were
moved from the street to scattered locations on the farm
in the last part of the 1800s. A
two-page explanation of what this one page means, written
by Amelia Wallace Vernon, is in the papers associated with
the Wallace collection. This
spiral notebook was given to the cabins collection in 1995
from estate of Amelia M. Wallace and is in the Arundel
Room, Rogers Library, Francis Marion University. (Photo 1999) |
