Two of
the plain straight chairs that were donated by Amelia M.
Wallace in the early days of the collection are
photographed here to show a second way to tell the two
chairs apart. The chair at
the bottom of the photo, which is the darker chair, has a
curve in the front crosspiece to which the caning is
attached. Instead of going
straight from one leg to the other, it curves inward
toward the back of the chair. See
