Figure 173.  Poster: Using Ruska Gregg's baskets

While Ruska Gregg made many things as chief woodcraftsman on the Gregg/Wallace farm, the basket in the hewn-timber cabins exhibit is the only thing that Archie Waiters could positively identify as  made by Gregg. In this photo, Gregg's standard-sized baskets are being used for harvesting sweet potatoes. Waiters said that baskets used for corn harvest were so large that it took two ment to lift them. Left to right: Archie Waiters, James Waiters, Ernest Egleton, Tom Waiters, and Ed Pinkney. (Photo on poster courtesy of Amelia Wallace. Poster by Amelia Vernon, donated 1998.)
