Archie Waiters said that this large peg was used for storing a mule's gear and collar. The gear room was just inside the mule lot, to the right of the gate, and each of the mules had his own peg. How man nights the plowmen who had worked from sunrise to dark must have reached their tired arms up to these pegs. The small peg pictured here was used to secure joints. Photo 1984.
