Figure 919. Nail made
from nail rod John Bultman noted that the nail on the previous page had a pretty rose-shaped head and was tapered on all four sides, so he identified it as being made entirely by the blacksmith. Because the nail on this page was tapered on only two sides, Bultman identified it as one made from a commerically supplied nail rod, with the blacksmith merely putting the head and the taper on it.
