These strap hinges had collected in the J. Eli Gregg corn barn by the 1980s. One hundred and fifty years of collecting - so there is no way to know exactly where each one came from. The ones with thumb ends are of the style generally found on the J. Eli Gregg buildings. I would guess that the one hinge with the tip made in the spearhead style probably came from some other blacksmith, either an ealier blacksmith on this place or from some other place. Photo 1984.
