basket As a child, when Waiters would pass his Uncle Ruska’s home, he would stop and watch the old man work. If Gregg wanted to split strips of white oak to make a basket, he would say to little Archie, "Get my number two glut." The child would run to the box that contained eight different-sized gluts and return with number two. Years later, when Gregg was too old to work, he gave Waiters that glut. (Photo 1984) |
