showing bottom of basket After Gregg wove the bottom of the basket, he put a heavy metal weight in it. The strips of oak projecting on each side were flexed upward and held in place by a frame of horizontal boards secured to stakes driven into the ground. This basket, which was made by Ruska Gregg, was used to carry corn from the barn to the mule stables. (Photo 1984) |
