Figure 135. Weight for
gin house scale Cotton was brought to the gin house on wagons and it was weighed in while still on the wagons. That was one scale—on one side of the gin house. On the opposite side of the gin house, a second scale weighed the bales of cotton as they came out of the press. Pictured here is one of the weights used on that scale. (Photo 1998) |
