Figure 179. Poster: Johnnie Waiters lived in the hewn-timber houseAn earlier poster of Johnnie Waiters was revised to include this better photo of him. Catherine and Archie Waiters’s son Johnnie Waiters and his wife Sallie Marie Singletary Waiters moved into Ms. Catherine’s house in 1955 and lived there until 1957. They were the last people to live in the hewn-timber houses. (Poster by Amelia Vernon, donated 2006 to replace 1998 poster.) |
