Otis Waiters is listed in this gin record book as Odus Waiters. Archie Waiters would have played a role in picking this cotton because Otis Waiters was Archie’s father. A sharecropper’s whole family was expected to work as needed on the crops he was sharecropping, and the picking of the cotton was the most labor-intensive part of cotton culture.
