Figure 53: Wallpaper in Ms. Catherine’s house

Ms. Catherine lovingly recalled her old home.  She said, “Use paper [newspaper] to keep the wind out of the cracks.  Take flour and boil it and put paste over the paper and stick it on the wall.  Put fresh paper on top of the paper already there every year about November.  Beautify the front room--if you had books [magazines], get some of the pretty pictures and put on the wall.  Stick them on."  (Photo 1990)
